Venezuela. Merida.

Still here and still happy!.
The day after I last wrote. Ronald and Mikkel came back from Isla Margarita (an island north of Caracas)a day earlier, and we all met up in a sweet little restaurant outside on a square. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and the waiter was really lazy, but you cant expect a table of 6 waiters in another country to give many compliments can you?. It was so freaky to all be together again!. Just to let those of you who don't know the situation, Rokil was a manager in Sars, a restaurant in Nyhavn, owned by the same boss that owns mine and Maurice's restaurants. He's married to Gaudy, a Venezuelan girl, shes worked in Gasten with me the past 2 summers. Over the years we have become friends and have finally taken up the offer to come here and see them. Gaudy and Ronald were friends before they both came to Denmark, and when Gaudy and Rokil left Denmark, Ronald has taken over her job in Gasten. Mikkel is married to Ronald. Hes Danish and works in a restaurant close to Nyhavn.
PHEW. that's it.
Where was I?. Its was very strange to sit round the table. All good friends in VENEZUELA!. Wonderful.
Unfortunately, Maurice wasn't well as he had the runs. I think its because he ate a plantain. Raw. Yuk. Mad man. Plantain is like a huge banana, but its got seeds and tastes quite woody when its raw.
So, we shared a plate of food, and then went on to a few bars in the evening. Maurice didn't make it for that long, and Gaudy had gone home too (pregnant) but Ronald, Mikkel, Rokil and I had a lovely evening.
The next day Ronald and Mikkel picked us up from the hotel we were staying in and took us to Ronald's mum and dads house.
We have our own apartment that's just next to the main house and right next to the swimming pool. The deal is that we can sleep there for as long as Ronald and Mikkel are in Venezuela, and she will cook lunch for us, but we look after ourselves for dinner. Fan.tas.tic. Especially as shes a really really good cook, and that Venezuelans have a bigger lunch than they do dinner, and then of course its siesta time!.
So, since we have been living with Ronald's family, we've had a really lovely time. Apart from the weather. On the day we arrived, we cleaned out the pool and filled it up, then it rained for the next two days. wonderful. So the pool waters green, but when the sun came out this morning, I didn't mind at all, and have been in and out of the pool and sun most of the day. God knows what colour I will be by tonight!.
Yesterday, the four of us went to the zoo with Ronalds cousin too, which is close to Ronalds. Of course Zoos are never going to have enough space for the animals that they keep there, and this one was no exception, but the setting was wonderful. It was right in between 2 mountains and a huge waterfall running through it, so it was right in the nature.
Last night we went to see Ronalds cousins who all live in the same apartment. We had a nice evening with them, and one of them is a famous TV magician, so we were entertained all night with his freaky magic tricks. Hes a great performer, all the sweepy moves and mystical music. All that was missing last night was the smoke machine!.
We haven't seen Rokil an Gaudy since Ronald and Mikkel arrived, which is a shame, they didn't want to come out last night.
Well gotta run, as Ive just realised that I didn't tell anyone where I was going as they were all having siesta!.
